Don't Worry . . .

Situation:

During the invasion of Pain, Nariko was killed by Pain when she tried to buy Hinata some time to free Naruto. Even though she wasn't physically there at the battle Mai knew of her mother's death when felt her chakra disappear. Mai was overjoyed when she found out that Nariko was brought back to life, But she didn't tell anyone that she knew that Nariko had died. A few days after Nagato's defeat, Mai was spending time with her mother and her two 'fathers' (Naruto and Kagi). Mai then confronted Nariko about her death.

Story:

"Mommy?" Mai said quietly as she looked up at Nariko.

"What is it sweetie?" Nariko said as she looked down at Mai. The young girl quickly looked down at the ground before grabbing onto Kagi's pants.

"Why didn't you tell me that you died?" She said shyly before fiddling with her mother's headband which Mai wore proudly on top of her head. Everyone else's eyes widen in shock.

"How did you know-" Naruto began as stepped towards Mai only to be hushed by Nariko.

"Cause I know you would have felt it Mai" Nariko said solftly as she crouched down Mai's eye level. Mai frowned a little.

"You broke your promise Mommy, You said you weren't going to die but" Mai blurted out as she tried to hold back her tears. Nariko smiled softly at Mai.

"I know and I'm sorry, but Mommy was so angry then. I didn't think, I just wanted to make sure that my friends and family were safe. I didn't care if I died as long as eveyone I loved was.alive and well" Nariko explained as she pulled Mai into a hug which she qucikly returned.

"But a war is coming Mommy and this time your not allowed to die" Mai lectured her mother as she pulled away. "Cause I said!" she finished with a huff as she playfully glared at Nariko. Placing a hand on Mai's head, Nariko let out a small laugh.

"Don't worry sweetie, Mommy plans on coming home after this war" Nariko said confidently as she ruffled Mai;'s hair with a grin. Mai chuckled a little before looking up at Kagi and Naruto.

"You guys have to promise to come home too! And you have make sure Mommy doesn't do anyrhing silly either!'" Mai yelled at her Daddys.

"Of course we'll come home! And we'll make sure Mommy thinks things through before going into battle!" Naruto yelled
before pulling Mai into a hug causing her to giggle. Mai looked up at Kagi as Naruto placed her on the ground.

"What about you Daddy Kagi?" Mai asked casuing Kagi to smile before picking her up.

"Of course I'll come home little one and make sure that both your mother and your Baka father over there don't do anything silly!" Kagi said with a laugh before kissing Mai on the forehead.

"What did you call me!" Naruto yelled as Nariko rolled her eyes at the boys behaviour before letting out a laugh and standing up and taking Mai from Kagi, knowing perfectly well that the boys were about to have an arguement.
